Below are pictures showing the Super Eagles of Nigeria training at their camp in Australia after the one nil loss to Czech Republic in a warm up match for Russia 2018 world cup. The game against the Czechs is the second friendly match they’ve lost, the first being against England.
They lost 2 -1 to England at the Wembley stadium last week.
The Super Eagles are placed in group D alongside 3 times champions Argentina. Croatia and debutant Iceland are the other Countries in Nigeria’ world cup group.
A report has it that there is currently a rift between Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel and his assistant Ogenyi Onazi. Both players are said to be on a collision course in camp ahead of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
A source revealed that both players are no longer on talking terms and the tussle for leadership is distracting other players in camp.
“If we must do well in Russia, the NFF must ensure they resolve the wrangling between Mikel and Onazi. Both players I can confirm are not in talking terms and this could cost the team at the World Cup.
“As we speak, the tussle is a big distraction for the team. Some players have also pitched their tents with either Mikel or Onazi in the struggle.
“Though, the reason for tussle is not known yet but some people felt it was due Onazi’s insistence on not taking orders from Mikel,” the source revealed.
