Arsenal legend and former French international, Patrick Vieira has been appointed coach of French Ligue 1 side Nice. The former midfielder was unveiled by Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere at the club base.
Speaking at a press conference held in France, the former Arsenal captain who recently left his post as head coach of Major League Soccer side New York City, said: ‘My career as a player no longer counts, it’s part of the past,’ he told reporters.
‘The important thing for me is to have a clear idea of what I want from players, a specific game scheme for them to express themselves, because the talent is there.
I’m happy. This is what I was looking for: I will work in good conditions with passionate people, who will support me in the good and bad times. I am very happy to be here. There is everything you need here to succeed.’
Announcing Vieira’s departure on their website, New York City thanked the former World Cup winner for his endeavours. “New York City FC today announced that head coach Patrick Vieira is leaving the club to join OGC Nice, effective immediately,” a club statement read.
“Vieira departs after two and a half years at the helm having led the team to two consecutive play‑off appearances and with a current second place standing in the Eastern Conference.”

In an interview with DW Africa, former Cross River state governor, Donald Duke, laid his mind bare on the administration of President Buhari. Donald Duke who has made his presidential ambitions known revealed that one of the reasons why the government of today is failing is because it is stuck in the past and refused to evolve by not making use of its young popular.

The two men strode toward each other and shared the momentous handshake beneath the white-washed walls of an upscale hotel in neutral Singapore, before sitting down for a half-day of meetings with major ramifications for the world.
The extraordinary summit which held in Singapore was unthinkable only months ago. However, secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on the eve of the summit that the United States is willing to offer the regime "unique" security guarantees.
"We will take actions to provide them sufficient certainty that they can be comfortable that denuclearization is not something that ends badly for them," Pompeo said.
"Just the opposite. That it leads to a...
