Yoruba Actress, Motunrayo Adeoye dies after long battle with chronic ulcer in Ibadan

Reports have it that talented veteran Yoruba Actress, Motunrayo Adeoye has passed away in Ibadan, Oyo State. She died today June 1st after a long battle with chronic ulcer.

She will be buried today at her residence located at Akobo Ojurin, Ibadan Oyo State today according to Islamic rite.

Madam Adeoye graduated from Osogbo Technical College, Osun State where she studied Electronics before she later went to Switzerland for a 7 months course to acquire more knowledge about the profession. She was a niece to a first class traditional ruler in Yoruba Land, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who is the Alafin of Oyo in Southwest Nigeria.

She has featured in many Nollywood movies and is named among the 10 most featured Veteran Yoruba actresses in the industry.

She worked with BCOS Communication, Ibadan as a studio/audio engineer in the 70s and did that for almost 40 years before she got her retirement. Almost immediately after her retirement, she went fully into acting. Her hard-hitting role in Kunle Afod’s hit movie, Igbekun made her a force to reckon with in the industry.
