Argentine football legend, Diego Maradona has issued a note of warning to Argentina’s coach, Jorge Sampaoli, ahead of his team’s game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Russia 2018 world cup.
The Albeceleste got a rude shocker when they drew 1-1 against little known Iceland who are first timers at the world cup. Lionel Messi had the chance to put his team in front from the penalty spot but had his shot stopped by the Iceland goalkeeper.
While speaking to a Venezuelan television, a 1986 World Cup winner, Diego Maradona, warned Jorge Sampaoli not to return home if he carries on with his kind of performance.
“If he carries on like this, Sampaoli can’t come back to Argentina,”
“It’s a disgrace. Not having prepared for the match knowing that Iceland are all 1.90m tall. I get the feeling there’s a general anger at the heart of the team,” Maradona said.
He added that the road to qualification is difficult as he pointed out Nigeria to be a stubborn opponent that may stop them in their last qualification match.
‘’The Nigerians are young and very fast. Their counter-attacks and pace are a beauty to behold. I wonder how Sampaoli will do it. All I know is that he would not be welcomed back to Argentina if he does not guide Argentina to beat Croatia and Nigeria to qualify.”
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has prophesied that God will help Nigerians defeat President Buhari in the 2019 elections. The former president made this known at a town hall meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, where the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) members converged today June 19th.
Obasanjo, who recently accused Buhari of planning to jail him, also made reference to how a former military president was defeated when he tried to transit to a civilian president.
“Some people believe that those that are in position, whether they are doing well or not, they must continue to be there. But when we say they must not be there, they will want to fight back. They will hold many things to wreak havoc, but everybody must be prepared. It will not be easy to wrest powers from them. If you think it will be easy to liberate Nigeria, you are deceiving yourself. But the God...
Few weeks after the Super Eagles jersey was launched, some Nigerians and celebrities were spotted rocking it as it was supposedly the best jersey for the World Cup 2018
It appears some people have been rocking the fake jersey after all. Some Nigerians, just like every other product have found a way to fine tune the jersey to suit their financial capabilities.
With the original jersey being sold at a whopping N41,000, some people would rather go for the "Aba made"costing far less than half the price of the original brand
Two yet to be identified men who took to supporting the Super Eagles all the way in Russia took a selfie and the photo has turned controversial overnight as one of them was spotted wearing the fake.
A Nigerian lady identified as Chika Lann who came into limelight for wearing a hair which she claims is worth N40m has cut the hair in fulfillment of a promise she made. Prior to the Super Eagles game against Croatia, Chika Lann promised to cut the hair if the Nigerian team should lose the game.
Unfortunately, the Super Eagles of Nigeria lost the match 2-0.
Going online, Chika shared a video to show she has fulfilled her promise. She wrote:
''Many people have been daring me to lose my hair… But, I don’t care. I don’t do what people tell me to do. I only loosed it because of my Promise.
I am still Chika Lann with or without the 40M hair.
