Matthew Wolff: Let’s tell you about the designer of the Super Eagles’ new jerseys

The new Super Eagles jersey as designed by Nike is expected to give Nigerians a nostalgic feeling about the USA 94 World Cup which has exciting.

Matthew Wolff led the team that designed the new Super Eagles jerseys.

Nike on Wednesday, February 7 unveiled Super Eagles 2018 FIFA World Cup jerseys to much acclaim on social media.

Leading the team that designed the jersey is Matthew Wolff who works for Nike. After the unveiling, he took to Twitter to say; “It was so much fun designing these World Cup 2018 pieces for Nigeria with the Nike team!”

These are fives things you should know about him.

1. Matthew Wolff is a graphic designer who currently works at Nike in New York City.

2. Matthew Wolff specialises in sports branding, logo and jersey design.

3. He grew up in Minneapolis, United States and London, United Kingdom. He attended Skidmore College, a private, independent liberal arts college in Saratoga, New York.

He also attended Parsons the New School for Design, a private art and design college in Manhattan, New York.

4. Before working at Nike, Wolff worked for the likes of IMG Colleges, Hypebeast and TV Land.

5. The Super Eagles World Cup jerseys are not his first job, he launched the visual identities of MLS side New York City FC where Frank Lampard and Italian legend Andrea Pirlo played before they retired. FIFA World Cup winner with Spain, David Villa still plays for New York City FC.

Wolff has also done works for Los Angeles FC and other numerous minor league and youth clubs.

A week to her birthday, Ghanaian Singer, Ebony Reigns, dies in a fatal crash

Sensational dancehall 20-year-old artiste, Ebony Reigns, has died in a road accident that occurred late Thursday evening on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

Ebony and two others were aboard a Jeep, when it collided head-on with a VIP bus heading towards Sunyani from Kumasi. She was meant to turn 21 on the 16th of February.

Ebony was discovered by renowned musician and entrepreneur Bullet of Ruff n Smooth fame when she sent a recording of her voice and was signed to his Rufftown record label just a day after listening to the recording.

Ebony came out with her first single, "Dancefloor", in December 2015 with a video and audio release.

Eucharia Anunobi battles loneliness after Son’s death

Nollywood actress, Eucharia Anunobi, is yet to get over the death of her only child, Joshua Ekwu, who died in 2017 after losing the battle to sickle cell.

He was only 15 at the time of his passing and the actress mourned him for 3 months.
The actress, also an evangelist who recently got back to acting lamented on the set of a new movie early this week while chatting with Inside Nollywood saying, ‘my home is so silent now without my son’.

She continued to say: ‘every time I peep into his room to see if he is there. When I drive back home, I long to see his smiling face radiating that joy of seeing me back. Cooking has lost its joy because he is not there to ask all those questions. My son, my baby, the most considerate child, adorable giant, I miss him’.
