Yesterday, the 18th Lagos State Annual Thanksgiving Service held at the State House, an unbroken tradition since 2000/
It had in attendance the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, RCCG General overseer Pastor Adeboye and his wife as well as other top members of the state executive.
At the service, Governor Ambode said: ‘In our usual tradition, we gather today, the first Sunday of the Year, in thanksgiving and praise to God Almighty. It is my prayer that as we come to His Gates and Courts with thanksgiving and with praises, He will release His blessings upon us. Our God will never fail us. He has never failed us and because of this we are entering the New Year with confidence and positive expectations’.

A week after revealing God’s instruction to him, to run for president, Governor El-Rufai visits Pastor Tunde Bakare in his Church.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, on Sunday visited the General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare at the church auditorium in Lagos on Sunday.
El-Rufai’s visit is coming just a week after Bakare declared his intention to run for the presidency.
The governor stepped into the church auditorium at afternoon, while Bakare was preaching.
On seeing El-Rufai, Bakare welcomed him, saying, “I have missed you, it is a good time to come”.
The fierce preacher had earlier in the service said all those putting up deliberate sinful silence about the killings in Benue would pay for it.
As at the time of filing this report, neither Bakare nor the governor have disclosed reason for the governor’s visit.
Singer, Innocent Idibia aka 2face is the cover boy for Guardian Life Magazine and the musician in a snippet of his interview has revealed that if life had not led him to the path of music, he would have ended up being a goalkeeper.
When asked what he would have done with his life if he wasn’t musician, 2face had promptly replied that he would have become a goalkeeper.
The choice of career came as a surprise to the interviewer who went ahead to ask why ‘goalkeeping’, he had only laughed.
