KFB Foodie Talk: How to make Homemade Cheese Burger


For our newbies, the KFB foodie talk column – handled by Dobby of Dobbysignature –  is basically for ladies and ‘guys’ that are interested in learning how to cook better  ;).


This
might sound a little weird, but burger takes up an inordinate amount of
space on my list of most cherished snacks. Nothing fancy just basic and
rather plain with few ingredients like mayonnaise, onion, ketchup would
do just fine for me. To take it further, cheese melted on top of hot
burger patty is a definite yes. Juicy and meaty burger meat is also a
must so when i really want to eat to my satisfaction, i ensure i grind
the meat i intend using ahead of time.

Cheesy beef burger is a sandwich which comprises of cooked caked meat placed between a bread bun or round bread.
It could also include ingredients such as lettuce, onion, ketchup,
mustard, tomato, mayonnaise or even fried egg. Although not originally
an indigenous snack, you can find it sold in most restaurants here in
the country. Here’s how to make the easiest burger ever!

How to make easy beef burger 
• Prep Time:     20 minutes
• Cook Time:    8 -10 minutes
• Level:             Easy
• Recipe Type: Snack
Ingredients:::
For the beef patty
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground chili pepper
• 500g ground beef 
• 1 small onion, finely chopped 
• 1 clove garlic, minced 
• Vegetable oil for frying
To make the burger
• 4 Round bread rolls / Burger buns glazed with sesame seeds
• 8 Lettuce leaves
• 4 Cheese slices
• 8 Onion rings
• Tomato ketchup, as desired
• Mayonnaise, as desired
Procedure:::
Step 1: In a medium sized bowl, combine together the ground beef,
salt, chili pepper, onion, minced garlic. with your hands, roll the
beef into 4 equal round balls and press down to form a compact round
disc which is about 3/4 inches thick. 
Step 2: Place the frying pan on the burner, add the oil and preheat on medium heat. 
Step 3: Add the beef patties into the preheated oil one at a time
and fry for about 8 minutes on both sides. When you’re about to remove
the fried burger, add a slice of cheese so it’d melt on the hot patty. 
Step 4: Slice the bread bun into two and toast a little on a hot
pan. Spread with mayonnaise, place the lettuce on it, place the beef on
it, add onion rings & ketchup and cover with the other bread. Serve
& enjoy!
