First of all I’ll like to comment
on the art cover of the song! The chemistry between these two is pure and
strong! They could pass for lovers (i.e if they aren’t already LOL)

I downloaded the song on

good as Debbie is a powerful songstress and Bassey wowed us in the Big Brother
song.

Wow! Joy and pain has been on
replay on my phone since yesterday and I have had uncountable “eargasms”
listening to the song. The song was produced by Mekoyo and Mastered by Suka,
it’s a slow tempo song and I can strongly tell you it’s a breath of fresh air
into the Nigerian music industry.

The feeling of the guitar in the
intro of the song is everything! Bassey’s husky voice in the first stanza was
pure and powerful, the transition into Debie’s part was awesome. The lyrics is
powerful and too intimate, it made me wonder if they were just friends (side
eyes). The passion and energy in stanza 2 was cool, Debie’s delivery there was
serious and Bassey’s part was somehow like a bridge, the trend and rhythm of
the song changed here, it was natural and passionate, it was as if they were
having a conversation and Bassey’s laugh killed it! The break in the call to
chorus was unique, though it had a gospel like flow there. How she was able to
infuse a gospel vibe and feeling in that part was amazing and powerful, the
minor part here was soothing to the ear!

Go download the song if you haven’t
you won’t regret it. Thank God the sky is big enough to accommodate everyone,
Debie and Bassey sure have a strong place in the Nigerian music industry.
