Former President, Goodluck Jonathan was reportedly attacked by suspected militants, who drove into his convoy on Monday morning.
The militants reportedly intercepted and drove into
Jonathan’s motorcade at the Julius Berger bridge area of Yenagoa,
Bayelsa state.
The assailants were said to have followed and pursued the motorcade
to the entrance of Jonathan’s private residence in the Kpansia area of
Yenagoa.
At Jonathan’s residence, the men reported to be militants, were
overpowered and arrested by the former President’s combined team of
security operatives.
Jonathan’s assailants are said to be in the employ of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa state, but the veracity of this
claim is yet to be ascertained.
The arrested suspects have been taken to the Bayelsa State Police Command for questioning, the reports says.
