Dirty Sango now wearing a new look

Sango Ota in Ogun state is today a beehive of activities in general cleaning.

Never has the town experienced such  actively propelled  sanitation exercise.
This is because on environmental sanitation days, people are only concerned about their private or personal building cleanness.

Even
on Thursdays, a day in a week, set apart for market stalls owners or
shops owners to clean their surroundings, you will not see the traders
obeying the edict.
At most, they sweep their shops or offices , lock the place up and sit idle to observe the compulsory exercise.
At other times, if a customer approaches, he or she is invited through the back door and has his needs met.
But
today which is neither the last Saturday of the month nor Thursday-the
two days for general cleaning-the whole city is awake to the clarion
call of the state government to effect CHANGE in their environment.
Since
last week, the state radio and the television stations have been
sending the signal to the entire citizenry telling them the entire state
is dirty, especially Sango Ota.
The government now adds stiff penalty-you are caught dumping refuse anywhere, you are sentenced.

This morning exercise continued
till later in the day. Not until the frontage of the shop is clear and
certified would the owner be given a clean slate to open for business.
