A 23-year old female worker in one of the Rhema Church branches in Cross River state, Iyaji Yegwa,was struck dead by lightning when she went to sweep the house of the Lord, on Saturday.
She was sent to
the great beyond by lightning during a thunderstorm while sweeping a church on Saturday, June 6, in preparation for the service the next day.
According
to the pastor of local branch of the Rhema Church where the incident
happened, the woman who is a very dedicated church worker was sweeping
inside the church when it began to rain and he handed over his mobile
phone to her and went to his house to remove the clothes he washed but
could not make it back to the church due to the heavy rain.
By the time he got back to the church, he met the woman on the floor dead and raised an alarm.
“There was a lot of thunder and lightning during the brief rainfall and unfortunately, Mrs Yegwa was struck dead by one of those fierce lightnings that hit the church.”
