A journalist with the handle @chxta on twitter witnessed how a woman was attacked in Rivers today.

I just witnessed a bottle being smashed on a woman’s head in Aboonema. I’ve seen my fair share of bottles applied on people’s heads, I grew up in Benin, but I’ve never seen one broken on a woman’s head before…we arrived in Aboonema, Akukutoru LGA and observed that there was no
accreditation going on. Youths in the town were going around and asking
people not to vote.
INEC staff were idling away while townspeople were watching with
disinterest. Then a woman walked up to be accredited, and in a flash, a
young man took a bottle and broke it on her head. Everyone, including
the INEC officials, prospective voters, my driver, and myself, at that
point decided to call it a day...
