At least 31 persons have been confirmed dead in the twin bomb blast that rocked Jos central market this evening.
The bombing took place around Mr Biggs roundabout on Ahmadu Bello Way.
A double bombing Thursday in the central Nigeria city of Jos killed at
least 31 people near the site where a similar attack in May killed 118
people, the state government told AFP.
“The bodies recovered so far are 31 but rescue workers are at the scene and the figures may change,” said Pam Ayuba, the spokesman for area Governor Jonah Jang.
Meanwhile, the Kano state Police command has uncovered a bomb hidden in a sack at
Dawnau, the Kano food market.
This development comes barely 24 hours
after two female suicide bombers blew themselves up at the Filin Parking
in Kantin Kwari Market, killing 6 people.
The state’s Police commissioner, Adelenre Shinaba confirmed the incident
and said the police has successfully detonated the bomb.
