Merrilyn
Akpapuna, a 20-year-old psychology major and business management minor from
Delta State has emerged the best graduating student at the Dillard University,
New Orlean.
Akpapuna who finished with a first class honours, won two other awards for
highest academic achievements from the College of Arts and Sciences and College
of General Studies.
Her other awards and recognition include;
The
Daniel C. Thompson/Samuel Dubois Cook Honours Programme, Phi Eta Sigma Freshman
Honour Society, Dean’s List of Scholars, 1st Place for exceptional work in
Algebra Relay, National Institute of Science, Beta Kappa Chi Honour Society,
Alpha Kappa Mu national Honour Society, and Psi Chi National Honour Society.
Marrilyn
made a cumulative grade point average of 4.0. In other words, she made an A in
every course she took during her four years study at Dillard. She
was also the best student in her class in the West African Secondary School
Certificate Examination at the Reagan Memorial Baptist Girls Secondary School,
Yaba, Lagos before she proceeded to study on a full scholarship in Dillard
University. Whoop, Nigerians rock!
