“The stolen gifts were meant for children too ill to go home for Christmas.”
Thieves have stolen Christmas presents meant for seriously ill children being treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Around 20 gifts, all wrapped ready to be given to some of the hospital’s most unwell patients on Christmas Day, were reported as stolen by the hospital yesterday.
The presents included portable DVD players, DVDs and games consoles, and were gifts for children staying in the hospital’s intensive care unit over Christmas.
DailyMail reports that the presents, which were bought by the hospital’s charity and were meant for children in intensive care, were stolen over the weekend
It is believed that the presents, which were being stored in a cupboard in a part of the hospital not open to the public, were taken at some time between Friday and Monday.
